I have spoken with 2 tuners now, both using EFI live, and both said Holden can't see the tune parameters with their diagnostic tech 2 tool? Oztrack said he closes the tune so it can't be read or wiped .

Anyone else have any intellegence re this?

Thinking of having AFM switched off and putting my marriage savers back on, but don't want to lose my warranty.

Would I be wrong to assume if it were detected, turning AFM off would only affect sensors etc, not whole driveline?

Mate have a look at the 'Range Technology Active Fuel Management Disable' device purchasable through Amazon and there's a YouTube of it. From memory it's like $250USD.

You can tell easy, once you open and modify the tune it shows up on GDS (the PC based successor to tech2) as all zeros for engine calibration versions.

Hi Smashfist, do you have any further info on this?

Do they no longer use tech 2?

I had read there was a sum total of all values, and if anything had been modified the total would not correspond to the original, but both Efi live tuners told me that once locked it was undetectable at dealership level, and would require a Holden engineer to access all tables etc.

So much confusing, conflicting information!

Why don't you just drive in sports mode?
Won't that solve the AFM issue for you?

As the Range Tech one states, it doesn't tamper with the ECU and is not detectable by engineers. You've just got to remember to unplug it before bringing it in to Holden and they'll never know.

Tech 2 is used for older models and VE. All the new cars, VF included require GDS, different program on a computer, not a hand held device.
If the dealer cares they can find out if the cars tuned.

So,you, are saying simply pushing the sector to the right deactivates AFM? I thought you needed to use the manual shift function?

When it's in drive flick the lever to the LEFT and it's on sport mode. Once in sport mode you can shift if you like or not.
