Hi All,

When hot/cold control inside the cabin is turned to fully cold, warm air still comes in the car.
Getting this fixed would be very expensive as the dashboard would need to be removed.

How possible would it be for a mechanic to add a tap in-line with hose in engine bay which sends hot water to cabin radiator so when spring comes and the hot air is longer required I can just open the bonnet and turn the tap so hot water is not circulating via the cabin radiator. In Winter, I'd turn this tap on.

Thanks for any help, MH

Is your air con actually working? Have you checked to see if your system is charged or not? Have you checked your heater tap under the bonnet to see if it opens and closes the tap when you go from hot to cold on the controls? I'm assuming the VZ's have the same heater tap as the VY's. I could be wrong...

The a/c is working fine and a/c guy said it is fully charged. Today a mechanic showed me the heater tap. Should I see something move on that tap when someone in the cabin turns control between hot and cold? I'll try to observe this.
I'm still keen to know from someone who knows how cooling system works that if a manual tap is added (which can only be turned on & off from access in the engine bay) whether this would stuff up the flow of water for the cooling system. Cheers, MH

Check that the vacuum line that is connected to the temperature control switch is connected and functioning.
