Hey guys,, I have a 95 vs berlina..

the central locking works fine. but late at night recently the alarm has been going of at around 3 am and other various times.. i know its not theives and its realy quite annoying having to run real quik to the front of the house to turn it of so neighbors dont get anrgy.. im not quite sure what is wrong with it but yeah..

i have recently noticed some things with my carr..wich could be the problem..

i put a new 80fuze for the stereo wich since i have done that the car seems to have no battery power. when in idle sometimes the stereo switches of and with aircon on does it more frequently.. also i think this may be the problem because my car stalled the other night at a cruize and its auto.. and i had aircon and stereo on.. alternator does work..
so im thinking that the alarm is going of randomly because the batery is low.. wich was an issue i had before when i bought the car.. but after sorting out the power issue works fine..

also i had just had my windscreen replaced.

    any help would be great

im not sure under what circumstances the alarm is ment to go off for but have you checked the bonnet sensors and maybe the door ones as well like they may be only just working and in the wind they disconnect thinking something has opened. also is there maybe a load detector so if something else like your stereo malfunctions it draws power and alarm thinks car is trying to be hot wired. Im most likely wrong but its worth checking for something simple

the alarm will go off if the battery is disconnected (If it's a good one) because if some smartass thinks he will just quickly pop the bonnet and disconnect the battery it has it's own power supply.

    it's obviously after market

My Vs statesman factory alarm goes off if you dont disarm it ,before disconnecting the battery, the bad part is you cant turn it off until you reconnect the battery and bust your ear drums under the bonnet while doing it

Get a new battery and one with a higher CCA.
a weak or near dead battery is your problem.

Correct. Not to mention that my bonnet needs to be opened using 2 people, one to pull the lever and one to push down on the bonnet :) I can do it myself but its good if cops ever ask me to open the bonnet. Ill just say the cable snapped having it fixed next pay check.
