while driving my vt the engine cuts out engine light goes on dash and takes 10 min of cranking till it finally starts with no problem, it happens every week standard and have been stranded in the middle of the rd when stalls, it is very anying and would like to know what this problem is as its happening more often, could it be the starter motor?

Just the power train light? No others?

Either way, I'd check the connections to your coil pack are on good, mine are old and playing up - it stops occasionally.

CAS?... Try the cold water trick next time, See if that makes it start a bit quicker... Happend to an old mate of mine, His CAS was buggerd and would play up every now and then, Got more frequent with time... Then wouldent go at all.
Or as above, Something may be loose...Very rare as far as i have seen though. But happends.
If it were the starter...It wouldent turn over at all....
    Good luck!

The Crank Angle Sensor is behind the harmonic balancer, U will need a HB Puller tool to get it off.
Have u had a look to see if the car has logged any fault codes?
That may help find the problem a bit quicker.
I would first have a look for any codes then go from there.
    There is only 1 CAS.
I dont know of any way to test if the crank sensor is failing, Just next time your car stop's, If you are in a safe spot just pour cold water over/behind the harmonic balancer and see if that makes the car start any quicker, The idea is to get the cold water on the crank sensor. Sometimes makes them work again, But wont help if the sensor is snapped/broken.
There is quiet a few things that could be causing your car to just stop randomly.
Just a matter of elimination, But as i said, Best to have a look for any fault codes.
    Good Luck!

    First of check for codes.
when the car starts playing up again check for spark. If there is no spark then have a look at the IGN system.
    CAS,DFI MODULE,COILS,RELAY.
