So I'm not sure if this should go in off topic or here but I'll give it ago
Nearly three weeks ago my car got keyed, pretty badly across 6 panels, I have full comp and its through my parents name so a $500 excess is not the end of the world but just tonight I have found out who did it. Now personally I am 100% sure that said person did it but there is no specific evidence pointing towards it.
So the options I see are:
So basically if you have another idea I'm all ears or if you have experience with the police and this sort of thing please tell me how it went
By the way the car is a VZ Calais and the marks are across the bonnet, down both passanger side doors, and onto the panel behind (not quite the QP like the one that the fuel cap is on but on the other side) and down both doors on the drivers side.
Thanks, heath.

So the options I see are:
- Pay the $500 and get it fixed
- Go to the police and see what happens (which there is a fair chance that it will end in, "yeah we spoke to him, he said he was sleeping that night, too bad")
- Ruin his car (he has a pretty rubish car anyway which is hardly worth touching let alone the trouble it will land me in it is a stupid idea, so maybe scratch that)
