After watching a recent episode of Top gear in which Jeremy drives a Mercedes 600 "grosser" and he blows the horn (which sound like it belongs on an ocean liner) i figured id ask if anyone has a custom horn and/or where can i get a very loud one.

The type of horn that screams "get the f%^k out of my way"

it will cost you about $1000 all up for the horns, air tank, air lines, power cable, compressor, etc...

Why not get a truck license and use a loud horn in a truck without looking like a complete knob jockey? Everytime this twat in a **** barge VN comes into our street at work, he beeps like massive bloody aftermarket horn, at least 2 guys from each factory in the street yell "shuttup ya ****ing tool!!!!!" including myself.

it depends on where you are...

you don't want people knowing whats in/on your car...

if its the middle of the night, and no one is around, or you're in the middle of nowhere, you could get away with it.

just like if you're in the middle of traffic, as no one would realise where it had come from...

    :)

I use dual (not triple) air horns under the left headlight/guard pointing at the slots in the bumper you hear them ten blocks away and they scare people for my amusement.:yeah:

You could always try what they did on "Pimp My Ride" chuck a couple of paint ball guns on the front of the car and have the controls on the steering wheel lol. Dont think it would be legal but....

I like my horn, has a bit more "grunt" compared to the VX one lol, but honestly nothing says "Get the **** out of my way!" more than actually saying out loud "Get the **** out of my way".

Yeah you dont need to be loud but....

I had a guy sitting right up my ass.... I looked at him in my side mirror (window down for clearer vision) and said "Get off my ass!" he then waved, mimed the word "sorry" and backed off LOL works a treat!

about five years ago I bought them at sprints for $40 put them in the vk then when I got the vl changed them over. all car stores have them including the musical ones too. the reason I use twins is they are louder than triples and musical they all use the same size compressor. also packaging and price difference won't matter much as most of the compressors are made in italy and if you regularly oil them they will keep on beeping for years to come. I saw a set at super cheap for $30 on special a couple of weeks ago and my brother just got some narva ones from repco same compressor.

So, if was looking to buy and aftermarket horn for my car, which one would i get and where from? And is it possible to mount them so they arent visible in the engine bay? I had to use mine tonight and i sounded like i was driving a Hyundai Excel!
