The locksmith asked me to take the car in - but really they only need the key. The car was there only so he could test the fob after he had cloned the original key. I live in a country area so it was too far to walk anyway haha.
If you have Supercheap close you could drop down and get one of their MAP keys and the programming tool and do it yourself.

The key is around 75 AUD and the programming tool $70 and you can program up to three keys with the tool before it "self destructs". So the DIY option is around $145. Then you need to get the blade cut.
I have heard conflicting stories about the MAP keys so for convenience and guaranteed workmanship I used the local locksmith.
Give the local locksmith a call - they will tell you what they need. If you can't move the car they can probably program the fob and if it doesn't work then take it back to them when you can get the car there.
