Had the same issue with an NL Fairlane I bought. The smoke crude covered the centre console lid so much that it protected it from wearing out... Once we scrapped it clean and hit it with leather cleaner multiple times, it came up looking brand new.

I used good old Glen 20 in the air con/HVAC system and sprayed the fabrics with Meguirs Odor Eliminator. Took three or four goes, but got ride of 95% of the smell for little cost.

There is only one way. The Ozone machine.

This guy is one of the most talented detailers in the US. His advice is expert level and this is a good guide to start with. It covers most of the basics.

Then when it comes to cigarette smoke, only an Ozone machine will make a difference

Ozone machines are also used when renovating properties were some one died and decomposed, bad moulds, and hoarders have been. These will totally remove unwanted smells without masking them.
