Car starting briefly then shutting off

If it's throwing a CHECK ENGINE, then it's the key, Try your spare key

It may/may not be the key's,
It could be the Slip Ring the key contacts with around the ignition switch.
I have noticed slip ring faults a fair bit on some of the cars I have activated Police Mode on, then provided a scan of the car,
and emailed the results to the owner for their records.

Could be a bad spark plug. When it turn on and didn't have enough power to power the whole engine. Then it will turn off automatically. But there other things to consider because it might not be the spark plug, just that it possible. The recommend of changing spark plug is 50,000 miles.
