Car starts then stops

Hi there

Apologies if this has been posted previously, but I've searched and can't find anything.

My VS (SS, manual) will fire up, but immediately dies. The auto electrician says it's an issue with the immobiliser coming on and shutting down the fuel injectors. However the guy from Mr Minit has proven that the key is successfully turning off the immobiliser and it must be something mechanical.

Google seems to suggest a fuel relay/fuel pump issue. Has anyone come across this before?

Check the error codes to see if the ECU has anything logged.

It'll help us help diagnose the issue further

As ephect says, you need to check your error codes, in particular to make sure code 31 has not been set. Attached is an excerpt from the Holden VS Service manual on the Theft Deterrent system. Note that VR and VS are very similar, and the when the description mentions high series BCM, it also means the low series BCM. In particular, refer to the note regarding the remote key reader assembly.
