I have a '89 VN Commodore, and want to buy a new stereo...

So i took out the stereo which is currently in it, to find that it has 2 power wires connected to it! Has anyone got any advice on what to do?

was it a factory or aftermarket head deck?

if you pull the wires out a bit, can you see plugs?

2 power wires? perhaps the 12v constant and the ignition one or whatever its called (the one that turns on when the ignition barrel is turned to 1)
failing that, get the multimeter out to be sure
if installing a new HU just tape up one of the unneeded power wires
..just my 2 cents,

Yes.........switched power and constant power. It is very likely your new unit will need both. Constant power is used to keep the settings such as time, station frequency and audio settings.
