    Hey guys,

    This is puzzling me.

I have a 1995 VS Statesman and the car seems to loose gears. When its in drive, It will only use 3rd and 4th. But when i use the selector, It will change into any gear. Just rough. If i turn the car off and back on again, The gears will be back to normal.

    Any ideas?

Your car is probably in Limp Home Mode - look it up on GOOGLE for a full explanation.

take it into a trans/auto specialist and get them to service it and check for any fault codes. Shouldnt cost too much

A service will cost between $140 to $200 plus when they download the codes - and given your description there will be some, - they may say 'time for a recondition'
It could just be a solenoid gone in the trans but as stated before, you can check the codes yourself and that way you have some idea of what could be wrong and how much it will cost, otherwise you will be at their mercy.
