Cars gone mad, electrical problem...

g'day

my car recently decided to only start when it wants to. it will fire then stop or start with the air con fan on, even though its not turned on, and the traction control light comes on which cant be turned off, and the remote for the doors also wont go on top of all this. its like it wants to start but just doesnt quite get there. it has taken about 20 minutes some times before it will run. once it does fire and the air con is on at this time plus traction control light so i turn it off and try again and its good as gold. but when driving the traction control will now decide to turn off again....im lost.

any ideas would be great. cheers.

Sounds like problems with the BCM ( body control module ). Does the security light on the dash flash when you are trying to start it? If it is then your immobiliser is still on and that's in the BCM.

Well you should get your BCM checked out. Might just be a loose connection or something but I reckon you will probably need a new one. I had the same problem.

It could also be the battery in your key may be going flat. My wife got stranded once because the battery went flat. Luckily shae was able to get home and get the spare. Unfortunately you can't just replace the "$3" battery. You have to replace the whole head if that's the case.
