Hi, my 2000 vt has super low kings all round.
cops thort they would be pricks 1 day and measure it so i failed because the extractors were sitting
    too low.
everywhere except the extractors are sitting high enough, took it down to an exhaust joint and they tighend up a few bolts are tryed to lift it as much as they could but it still failed by roughly 5mm
they are the factory extractors/headers w/e you call them and i am after advice.
i have thort about picking up some pacemakers as i have a 2.5" exhaust system but im woried there going to sit even lower!
so what i want to know is there anyway of fixing this problem im awear its common for vt's but there must be somthing on the market!

First, the cops weren't being 'pricks' - they were doing their job.

Try cutting the flanges off the extractors and welding them straight onto the pipe, that should fix up a little bit of height. Also most of the exhaust is held onto the body by 8 rings (holders in the shape of an 8) see if you can get them cut or get new ones like this: 0 - i.e. single ring ones, this should tuck it up a little bit more.

modify your engine mounts so the motor sits up higher. Or check them to see if they are sagging with age . Check the gap between the sump and crossmember . If the sump is nearly touching the cross member then its time to get new ones.

    ^ As he said

But as for the pacemaker extractors, when i got mine fitted he cut some bits off the top and re-wielded it so if i lowered it, it wouldn't be hanging low

I thought the minimum height excluded the exhaust? It does in most places - you should look into that.

What can I say. The system is useless. Heck even a road worthy in QLD isn't worth the paper it's written on.
