Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before but I'm a newbie so here goes. I live in New Zealand where Catalytic converters are only required on vehicles after 2010. I had a Coby brand 3" cat back exhaust installed which sounds awesome, however the drivers side Cat needs replacing (giving that horrible rattling noise). Local garage said go with a cat delete for around $300, not bad considering Holden quoted me $650 for a new cat:(

Question is do I need the O2 sensors deactivated because someone told me it will cause an engine light fault etc. I just want to make sure this is the case as it will cost me $500 to have this done.

Cheers John

if u have already had a 3" exhaust on it without the rear 02's disabled it was only a matter of time until u will have too so yes u will need to get that done so u may as well just get a tune to suit because the no cats will change flow also

Thanks for the reply, however mine only ever had front O2 sensors. That's why I'm asking because some say if your O2 sensors are before the cats, which mine are then you don't need it done. Does that sound right. I do however plan on getting it tuned but not just yet if I can help it.

Thanks for your advice buddy. I'll get the deletes done and see what happens after that. If it does
throw a wobbly then I'll just go get it tuned. Cheers!

on a stock tune it wont be the best but it will just adjust for it itself best it can (wont hurt engine tho) then when u get a tune it will make a good difference
