i have tested my vn with standard cat, high flow and gutted out cat and on the qtr mile and 0-100 a gutted cat did better than any cat. If u want to risk getting caught just gut ur cat. Leave the outer shell of the cat on ur exhaust so if a cop looks under ur cars he will still see u have a cat there.

It takes the cops only a few seconds to be able to test to see if the cat has been gutted or not. All it takes is one of those little point and click thermometers that Jaycar sell for about $20.

If it's working there is a big temerature change across the cat, if it's empty (or even with a pipe in it) there is little to no temperature drop.

And the smell is a fairly dead give away.

as if you condone that man... Why do ppl have to be like that to police? They are doing their jobs and remember they are around to protect people...in most situations they are our friends, not enemies.

But i bet he felt like a real big man sticking a finger up driving away while the cop probly had his back turned...

Its things like that that put cops in bad moods so that the next poor p plater they pull over gets a major defect because they are looking to get back at 'p platers' that do that sorta thing...however this goes for all people not just p platers

back to the question earlier, how are 2 standard cats more effective, and how are they installed, ie. same pipe or twin set up??

yeah i wouldnt bother gutting it, a straight through peice of pipe works much better.

yeah the dig was pointless, but now we have a genuine question:

in series would not increase flow, you'd have them parallel for it to work.

is there an easy way to tell if your cats are blocked?

undo the cat bolts drop the front of the cat back and start it if its flowing all right ya know otherwise pull the cat out and hold it up to a light you will be able to tell if its blocked or not

theres a clear difference, most obvious is the smell it actualy smells like fumes and as said the temp difference of the cat shell is massive
