Hi, so this morning I noticed a weird gear sound coming from near my fuel flap anytime I locked or unlocked my car. Only coming from near the fuel flap area.

Would that be the central locking on the fuel flap giving up? And if so, do I get it replaced or repaired?

The solenoid may be on the way out.

It comes as a complete part including wiring harness.

Mine went recently on my VF too, could audibly hear the actuator for the fuel locking from inside the cabin.

Easiest way to test is by locking the car, if you can open the fuel flap then it's buggered. Or vice versa, unlock the car and if you cant open the fuel flap - then it's also buggered.
