Ceramic Coatings

I'm after info on ceramic coatings.
Had a few look through the forum/s but can't seem to find a much.

I've previously done a full car before myself and are thinking it was an acrylic one as it was a DIY one I purchased off ebay.
Considering it survived about 4 years and over 200K klms in regional NSW predominantly not under-cover and during workdays parked at a mine site before the paint needed a polish I was more than satisfied, but can't find were to buy it again.

Has anyone else had any experiences, done one or rate one that can be done DIY.

I bought some through a car care products but never got around to applying it.

Got my car detailed by a local place who do ceramic coatings, but at $650 for the whole car to be coated I just couldn't justify it.
When I asked about having them applying the stuff I had we decided against it due to the age of it, but it was a reputable brand so stuff through CCP is definately a good option.
