hi wjile under car i noticed that my center bearing has allot of play it it, like if you grab the tail shaft and push it up and down etc where the center bearing is it moves up and down etc, HOWEVER the ceter bearing rubber is intact just movement is this normal? i have a spare but want to know if there supposed to be like this cheers
if the rubber is all good with no splits or looking perished and there is no vibration and it spins free and smooth it then its fine.
If it's got play then ditch it and put a new one in. Probaly needs it anyway they are suppose to have pretty much no play so if it's got play but your rubber is still good then maybe inside has something wrong..
If its got play you'll notice when you take off a shuddering sort of feeling for a few seconds. If not i wouldnt worry about it.
yeh i got a shudder, at speed to, just seems like the rubber has gone soft over the years, im gonna replace it anyways
