I think the L77 autos were 'handicapped' with the 2.92 final drive.
If they were geared the same, it would be very close 'off the line' at launch, but the 304kw LS3 has a mid range that 'blooms', where the L77 power delivery is more linear, and the LS3 would pull away.
The de-tuning of the LS3 has sacrificed a bit of the low end, compared to the HSV 317kw tune, and quite a bit compared to the 325/340kw tunes.
The LS3 certainly has a lot of potential locked up in the tune.
The MY17 transmission tune is great, wouldn't mind getting a copy and re-flashing the Maloo.

^ & ^^ Good points about the auto tunes. Even though my L77 & auto are tuned, the MY17 MSE tune is a lot better.

I have wondered whether the difference in engine characteristics would mean there was any reason not to have an MY17 transmission tune put into an L77 car's transmission ... would that work, even if you didn't have the flappy paddles?

Yes and no, the tables are different in the detail but you can translate and transpose from the later to any earlier OS where you can’t copy and paste. You can only flash same OS (typically).
Should mention that of course the later stock calibration is safe and may suit, but you can make it much more sweet.

My13 VF Calais V 6.0L Wagon - not sure if its FE1 or FE1.5

Rear
Shock 92293941
Spring 92250246

Front
Shock 92277931
Spring 92250246

Also bought 2nd hand FE3 suspension with the following part numbers. I rang Holden spares and they confirmed these part numbers are FE3 suspension off a wagon. I don't know what year model they came off. But pretty sure it was VF2.

Rear
Fe3 Shock 92279433
Fe3 Spring 92250245

Front
Fe3 shock 92277932

When I get a chance I'll compare those numbers against mine which is a VF2 wagon .

Yeah that would be great. I'm going to install them in my Calasi this weekend. Might make a comparison video to see if there is any noticeable change in ride height and body roll.

@Lewy_88 You motivated me to update my post#35 to show shocks for my SV6. I read off the old ones I took out.
