G'day muz When you put the brakes on do the lights get brighter, and do all 4 lights now stay on permanently,i cant say ive ever come across this fault, the only live power that i can think of in the boot is the feed for the boot light. I have seen a similar fault in the camry's when the boot wiring got caught in the hinge and fried up the globe fail controller. Regards Phillip :wax:
This 'must' be only happening when parkers or headlights are on because as PRH says there is no live power to that area unless somehow you've managed to mangle the wires. If on with parkers/hlights then maybe you've somehow shorted out the connecters inside the plugs when you sprayed them. Alternatively the spring inside the base may have rusted and broken bridging the parker/brake cables. Good Luck.
im goin with what hako suggested.. but another thing to look out for, happend to my cusin, the element spring of the parkers had shorted both parkers and stop elements in the globe itself, have a quick look, if in doubt replace one at a time and you should find the faulty one.
yea it had us buggered for ages, we where thinking the loom was stuffed, and as we were trouble shooting it, we knew it was the left side, then did globe by globe and found it was the stop/parker globe on closer inspection it was the bit of wire hangin of the end of the parker that wrapped itself round the stop base. never seen it before then
perhaps the globe was put in the wrong way... i ive done this with mine before, put the globe in the wrong way and it stayed on (aslong as the headlights were on) and ull notice that if u push the pedal while this is happening the other part of the globe (the normal lights part) will light up... i felt like an idiot when i spent about 20 mins tryin to figure out what it was haha... but if thats ur prolbem just pull it out, spin it around n put it back in.
ok i have a similar problem, when i brake my parkers come on and so do all my rear lights, so basically my break lights are only my parkers, and when i turn my headlights on i have no brake lights because there already on and there is no change when i put my foot on the brake? anyone know what to do?
