changed motor & wont start

i just got a good running motor that started first time every time from a beat up vl and put it in my vl but now it wont start, i dont know what to do because it ran perfect in the old vl but as soon as i put it in mine it wont fire up? what do i need to look at replacing?

Does it turn over? Is everything connected properly? Need more detail.

I would say you have either missed something plugging it all together or maybe a fuse has blown. Double check EVERYTHING.

Could of just missed something like an earth or connected the leads up wrong on the dizzy (I'm assuming the VL's have a Dizzy?)

it turns over but wont start and i think the ecu is giving me false codes here are the codes its showing. 11, 12, 14, 21, 23, 24, 31, 32,

but i know theres nothing wrong with the starter motor or air flow meter because they are both brand new

Reset the ECU and run a diagnostic again..
are u getting fuel?? Hoses arnt on wrong?? as in return is on the inlet
are u getting spark?

im getting my vl back 2night so i will have a look in the morning

it is bound to be a minor oversight E.G some connection somewhere as has been suggested above.
the motor swap was auto to auto, manual to auto or vise versa? it maybe a wire loom or neutral safety switch problem.

i didnt end up getting my car back home lastnight so i cant do anything yet but hopefuly getting it back 2nite or 2morro morning
