Were both engines the same and from the same model, ie both Ecotec?

Yes, the other motor was an ecotec and so is the one I have put in

You said you had no spark, did you remove a plug lead and got a old plug and leant it on the engine and cranked it to see if the plug is sparking? Have you tested power to the injectors when key is on? Have you tried start ya bastard in the throttle body while turning over to see if it will fire?

Yes we did try to put a plug in the lead and test for spark as you said, I will try start ya bastard and I’ll check power to injectors
