    Hey guys.

Last night I changed my base model vy acclaim dash to a level 2 dash cluster wuith 3 lcd panes.

Now the fuel seems to be reading full when I know its what would normally be very low.

i read on here that using a series 2 cluster in a series 1 car causes the fuel to read upside down is that true? can it be fixed? cheers for any help! - Mitch

    Hey guys,

So i read around a bit and i see that its a common problem. but no mention of what causes it or how to fix it? everyone keeps saying "take it to a tech2"

i assume this is someone with the gmh programming tools? I'm happy to do just this but will they be able to fix the fuel issue or is it the sender in the tank? wiring? or do i just ebay it give up and keep an eye out for a s1 style cluster?

I don't believe that Tech2 will resolve this issue.

There are three methods of resolution:

    1. Replace the cluster with a cluster correct for your series VY.

    2. Replace youre fuel sender unit to the one from the series of your incorrect cluster - around $400 I believe for parts and labour.

    3. Get the cluster reprogrammed by an instrument expert. I would guess that this would cost around $150 if you can find someone to do it.

My recommendation is to sell the one that you have, and replace it with a correct one for your series. Others methods hardly worth the bother.

    Mod worth doing imho.
