im about to rebuild my LSD and change the gear ratios from 3:08 to 4:11 i know this greatly affects the speedometer so in a VR what do you need to change. i know the newer models need a chip to change the pulse from the gearbox to the ECU to calibrate the speed and in the older models its just simply changing a cog to calibrate. Does a VR come under an older model style calibration with a new cog or a newer model style calibration with a chip. or Neither? Have not been able to get a clear answer. any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

best way in a VR is with a speedo corrector. Most people buy the kit from Jaycar (which comes as a circuit board and components and needs to be soldered together).

Then it is just a matter of connecting it up, cutting into the wire from ECU to speedo, and calibrating it properly.

I believe there is a thread on here somewhere on fitting one.

    thats it.

drive along with a GPS and get someone to adjust the switches until the speeds match.

Where in canberra can i get it done besides dickson specialty instruments, their wait time is ages and pricey for something fairly simple
