I want to change the grille inserts on the front bumper of my VX Acclaim S2. I want to put steel mesh in it where the plastic mesh sh*t is at the moment.

If anyone can offer advice on the best way to do this, what tools to use and where/ where not to cut would be a huge help. Cheers.

Here's a pic of the area i mean

Take out the grills, cut out the solid mesh stuff with a dremel, file and sand it smooth, cut the mesh to size and secure it in the grills..

Put it back in and there you go..

It was too much trouble for me.

The way the criss-cross parts go though.. it looks like you'll have to repaint the grill or it'll look real awkward.

How do you recommend securing it?

Two options I'd do.. Either Sikaflex or drill little holes and screw it in.. It'll be very fiddly and you'd have to do it perfectly to screw it in..

Sikaflex.. Applied liberally, it should work a treat..
