The driver's side headlamp on my VZ SV6 has blown, so I've bought replacement lamps, but the only way of replacing them I can find on these threads (and admittedly I'm new!) involves removing the whole front bar - I find this a bit difficult to believe! I replaced both globes a couple of times of times on my VT and it was basically "plug-n-play", but looking under the bonnet of the VZ I admit it looks more difficult, but surely I shouldn't have to tear apart half the front end of the car?!

    Any assistance greatly appreciated...

I'm confused , u want to change the whole headlight or just the globes ? ... If it's the bulbs you don't need to remove the front bar , if it's the whole headlight you wanna change then you do need to remove the front bar to get access to 1 or 2 of the bolts holding it in place ( not 100% sure how many bolts as I changed mine a few months ago ) .... Front bar removal is very easy

To replace gloves only you don't need to remove the bumper. Personally I found it much easier to do it that way though and I had it down to a 5 minute job. The other option is to undo the battery, shift it aside and fiddle around where you have bugger all room to move your hand.

Replacing while headlights however you must remove it as there is 2 bolts either side you can not get to unless it's taken off.

Just wanna replace the lamps. On one side it looks like I can just move the battery, but on the other side it appears the intake needs to be moved....

take off the plastic radiator shroud, then, put ur hand in the plastic air intake pipe and wiggle up and down whilst pulling it towards the front of the car, should pop straight off, giving you decent access to the back of the headlight assembly for those pesky globes :)
