Changing VN / VP bootlocks over.

    Hey guys, i am going to pick up a new bootlid this arvo and need to change the lock from my current one, onto the new one.


    How do you do that???? :bang:

    Are you only change the actual lock, or the whole mechanism?
    I can get photos if its only the lock, assuming i still remember how to ge them out.

    Ummm i'm not sure, i thought i just need to change the lock bit so i can open it with my key........?? Or do you need to change the whole thing so you can open it with the lever beside your drivers seat??

    Yeah you can change just the barrell over, just wasnt sure if your new boot had the mechanism, but if it does its relativly simple. and lever besides drivers seat? shouldnt it be in the glove box.

    There was one in the glovebox, but i have the lever beside the drivers seat.

    So, how do you change the barrel over? I have never done it before..........

    Pretty easy to do man, had to do it on my old VR, once you have a look at it you will understand what needs to be done.
    Pretty much just undo everything from ur current boot and put it in the other bootlid and put it in.
    Sorry if thats not much help im still feelin like crap

    Hahahaha that's cool man cheers. I'll have a stab at it when i get back. Now i gotta go to KK and meet HSV93 and grab this bootlid. Will be so glad to get this crappy bootlid off with the holes in it.

    Soz man, cant get photos. Got the boot out and was gonna get some photos of how its done, but seems someone has helped themselves to the internals lol. But yeah as wagz said, you will work it, just fiddle around.

    The other bit that moves and locks the lid into place is easy to get off, but the barrel i can't figure out.

    It's all good i just got it all apart and back together. Thanks for the help anyway everyone! It's pretty straight forward once you get that black clip off from around the lock barrel.
