When my Dad bought his VH at Ron Hodgson’s they sold him a few options including a Chapman Lock for the bonnet.

Now I’ve never met anyone else that has ever heard of these things so maybe Dad was the only one to buy one.

It was a kill switch connected to a “strong” metal bar that kept the bonnet from being opened. It was operated by a little push in lock that was released with a little key, the key was a round job with notches and a raised fin type piece. I didn’t explain that well but that’s about as good as I can.

Anyone else have one ? Heard of them ?

Yep, just like that.

I guess it works because over the years there have been a few unsuccessful attempts to steal it. Busted door key holes, busted steering column shroud etc but the car stayed put.

Yeah those were weird aftermarket fetish & just as easy to get past like stock locks.

There used to be these crazy full metal jacket things for steering lock that were the craze for brocks & sle lovers...were also these overkill bonnet cable protectors...forget the brand names but damn it was a lot of work to repair all the damage to the cars that were usually saved by flat battery or hidden kill switch.
