hey there everyone just wondering if any body can help me out with an engine number on an apparantly blue 202.
the block has been painted black but i can see red coming through, the block has 3.3 cast into the side and a twelve port head.
the engine number is : ZM65878
any feedback would be greatly appreciated as i am trying to rebuild the engine to put into a ski boat.
Cheers.

More cars than I've got space to park!
Do you have the date code off the side of the block, should be something like one or two numbers (day), followed by a letter (month), followed by another number (year, probably an "8")? There will be a clock cast next to it but that's not really relevant these days.

Going solely by the engine number I'd *guess* it's a low compression 202 red motor, possibly from a Bedford? Could be from a HZ Holden but I didn't think they got low comp motors?

Z prefixed engines are late HZ, once the original HQ engine series reached number 999999.
ZM is a low compression 202 ('M' is used to mark all low comp 6 cyl engines)
