Car/body is nearly 40 years old, might even been stolen/rebirthed/written off years ago, stripped for sale.
Which is why it’s absolutely important to sort out legal ownership and rego requirements before money is spent…
Decades ago Ive heard of one chap who bought a wreck and spend near on $30k fixing it and then the chassis was identified as stolen and the police seized the car. Then the courts got involved as the guy who rebuilt it wanted to keep it. The end result was the car was returned (in it‘s rebuilt state) to the original owner. And if the buyer wanted compensation for his loss had to chase the long gone seller (not the original owner) through the courts (if he could be found and had assets that could be seized)
These ownership issues need to be 100% above board as such things can bite even years and years after a purchase…
