Chassis Rails

Not sure which section to post this is.
I work for a place that get reids of damaged cars, so Ive got a 2006 VZ SS Damaged for an awesome price however Left Chassis rails is bent, Ive been quoted $1500 to straighten it out how ever I figure an easier and cheaper option would be to buy a standard vz thats also damaged and use the chassis rail from that and put it on the VZ SS

Is this a plausible idea, Disregarding the time and effort it would take. Would it work?
Next question is are the vy and vz chassis rails identical?
Any ideas guys?

They don't have true chassis 'rails' as they are a monocoque design.
Everything is spot welded.
Would be less headaches to hand over the 1500 and let them get it to an acceptable condition.
Is it worth spending 1500 on?

Are they going to straighten it out for $1500 or replace the damaged area? what else is damaged on the car, surely it must be pretty bad. I am assuming it has also been written off?

Car is on the WOVR, not a STAT write of its a repairable write off.
Its a VZ SS so their still worth round the $17k mark.
Doesnt seem like swapping "Rails" is such a smart idea after all
My other thoughts were that I get the shop to simply straighten it.
All engine, panels and everything else would be removed by myself so Basically the car would go into the shop with the front end being a just a shell for them to straighten up,and a mate of mine whose a boiler maker will be welding it all up for me.

My other question is, Will a VZ SS 5.7l Basically go straight into a VZ Exec obviously assuming that all other components ie.. radiator, thermos etc.. are also swapped over

I've seen the front end of cars replaced before.

Everything from the firewall forward removed and replaced properly and there's no drama. Its expensive but possible.

well you will never get it passed (in a million years worth of straightening) in victoria. dunno how tight they are on repairable write off's in perth tho. i had an immaculate repairable rightoff once and they went over it with a fine tooth comb. had to take it back 3 times.

If its done by a certified repairer its not so hard. In vic they usually sort it all out for you. Costs the world though.

rip the motor out and whack it in a vh... then i'll paint it, maybe do a shadow tone job on it. candy red to cherry red mmmm....
