I use genuine Holden FE2 front struts on my VS, along with genuine Holden FE2 front springs. I paid around $90 each for the new genuine struts, and around $55 each for the new front springs. The genuine rear springs (live axle) arent available any more for VS sedans, so for the rear I went with Kings brand springs, and I chose springs that were a close match and height to the original FE2 rear springs, these are - KHRL20HD+ springs. The kings ones are supposed to be around 25% stiffer than the original FE2 springs. They certainly tighten up the ride nicely.
I also fitted Monroe GT sport rear shocks, which are a bit stiffer than the normal Monroe GT shocks. Ive also got urethane type bushes fitted to all the rear control arms etc, which tops off the springs and shocks just nicely. A lot of people complain about urethane bushes being to stiff and causing a harsh ride, Ive found that this is really only a problem if you also run heaps low springs. The ride can be a bit harsh at times, with say, superlow type springs etc, but Ive never have a problem with using urethane type bushes with the FE2 type /height springs.
Ive fully rebuilt the front suspension not long ago, so next all I need is some adjustable swaybars to dial in the handling, it understeers too much at the moment, I eventually want it set up so its pretty much neutral to slight oversteer in its handling.
