The check engine symbol has popped up on my dash, the car has also been saying it needs a service at 60 000 km (currently on 58 900km), but my service history says next one should be due at 67 000 km. Could they be linked? Anything I should look out for? The car is 2009 my10 model
Sorry don't know much about cars:/d

Service reminder is just a reminder. Can be reset yourself or by a mechanic when car is serviced. Do not exceed service intervals, if it's due, get it done.

Engine light is a problem that needs to be checked and fixed. Not linked to service reminder. A mechanic will need to scan the error code to see what is wrong. Or you can buy your own scan tool off ebay. Better to get this checked earlier rather than later, driving with an engine light constantly on could be doing damage.
