Howdy.
Just got my 2010 sv6 back from getting hail repaired, check engine light came on as soon as it started..
The repairers put code checker on it and they said it was an immobilizer error?
It cleared and hasn't come back on so far(1 day)
Ive never had a check engine light so it freaked me a bit and thought the immobilizer error was odd for a check engine light.
Done 1000k's since last service.. just hit 150k in total. Had bonnet, windscreen and boot replaced as part of repairs..

It sounds like a Sedan ?
If so, was the back window broken with the hail ?
I would say the immobiliser may need to be replaced, due to water/hail damage,
as its located under the rear parcel shelf.

Never knew this, any insight as to why it's located in the boot? Is it the same for VF?

If it was in the boot, it would partially shield the Remote Signal,
and imagine the customers saying, "My Remotes Doesn't Work at the Front of my Car".

I forgot to mention, maybe pick one up from a wrecker, heaps cheaper then from a Dealer, I picked up one for $10 as a spare.
But you will need to get ALL of your keys re-programmed in to the receiver,
Very easy, just need someone with a Tech2 of another Programming Unit that does Keys.

Parcel shelf is part of the boot to me tbh
