Check oil light on after oil change

Just changed the oil in LS1 and went for a drive to shop’s and check oil light came on over a distance of 1.5k
light-never came on prior to oil change, oil level is correct and new filter installed

Oil pressure unit given up

As above its most likely the oil pressure sender which is located at the back of the inlet manifold

It’s odd that it would fail after an oil change, I was under the impression the engine light comes on if the sender fails

Yea true the check engine light came on in my old vx ss when the sender went bad, need to get the codes scanned and see what it comes up with

No weird noises, everything thing sounds like it should

See if you can get someone with a scan tool to check the oil pressure reading at idle once warm it should be about 200kPa. It could be that the reader is faulty and needs changing but see if you can get a reading on the oil pressure
