Received an token air freshener piece that you can hang off the mirror from a local can recycler depot
Placed it near the upper center console near the display.
Forgot about it and parked it for a couple of weeks.
When I got back in the car I noticed the air fresh item lifted it and then noticed the air freshener chemical had eaten away at the paint underneath Uhhgh.
Looks rubbish.
Any possible suggestions to repair this.
Or would a professional be recommended for this job.

Yeah replacement part might be the go. Unless I can repaint somehow. I imagine it would be hard to get a clean finish.

Smoothing the surface properly and matching the colour would probably be the hardest part. I’ve repainted trim pieces before for colour coding and it’s not that hard to get a good finish.

Just need a good primer and make sure you do a lot of very thin coats so you don’t get any drips in the paint. In your case it would probably be easier to just replace the trim piece.

Replace the trim. Paint will cost more than a SH part.
I've painted a VE console but the difference was, a shifter console for a VE is $1000 now.
