Im expecting to sight a "Great Wall" (Diesel) with Chevy badges any day now seeing they have the Chevy Diesels in them... I have a rotting apple in my centre console just in case :whistling
Chev badges!!!! each to their own , if it's your car do what You like to it, paint it pink if that pleases you. Last time I looked we still live in a free country.....
Nah, the petrol engines are the old Triton engines. The Diesels are the Chevy 4pots. The SUV sits on an American 4runner chassis, has a Mitsubishi engine and a Hyundai gearbox.... Great Wall is just a factory that mas produces cars for car company's in bulk, ( and has done for years) they just get exclusive rights to old technology and make a car with bits an pieces so they can have a piece of the pie too.. Pretty good cars in fact. Better build quality and cheaper to buy...
I think Chev badges look great on Holdens. I am proud to see Holdens with Chev and Vauxhall badges on them. We can make cars that are better than they can make them, so they buy them and put their own badges on them lol Of course, thats in the US and UK and other countries. In Australia, its just gay.
I always thought that transformers were for kids but the I guess that adults are staying at their parents homes for longer that it makes them feel like they can act like kids for longer! LOL
Is this great debate ever going to end? How about we all just take the Holden or Chev badges off our cars and put a "JC" sticker in it's place instead.
Putting a Chev badge on a Commo is like Michael Jackson trying to look white! Maybe Holden should put a sensor under the lion that throws a CEL error if it is removed ;-) lol. "E1 Clubby R8 when only an 8 will do!"
A bit off topic but a photo of the Volt in the local rag definitely shows that the space allocated for the Chev badge on the grille leaves the "bowtie" showing behind the Holden badge in production models. Looks really tacky.
the chev badges are getting worse, i see them all the time now, saw 4 of them today on my way home from work, and one of them was an omega :banstick:
Uuurgh, you're right! I reckon that's ordinary. Unless they claim it was done on purpose as a nod to their parent company? Even then... yuck!
Still off topic but I really like the look of the Volt (with the exeption of that badge detail). However, I can't see why they couldn't have come up with a mask to cover the bowtie spot before attaching the Holden insignia. Obviously, the centre bar is part of the front bumper facia so a completely new part just to accommodate the badge would not make economic sense, but they went to the trouble of new upper and lower grille inserts to take the round insignia, then left the centre bar untouched.
