Hi all, I know this has been discussed to death but I just wanted to clarify what cam package would best suit my weekend cruiser.
It’s a vr ss manual. Only mod is extractors and exhaust. I want something that has more go in the lower rev range as I’m rarely taking it over 120km/h.
I don’t mind doing a few skids in it though so whatever best suits me. Don’t really want to do any head work at this stage as I rarely get a chance to drive it.

Or the Crane 276 which is very similar.

I'd actually be keen to see those cams (276 and 4502) but with a tighter LSA and see how they go.

I think @someguy360 used the 276 on his original build? but he changed the intake to a dual plane.

Yeah I had the 276 on an otherwise stock engine and then moved to the dual plane later on. The 276 sings on a stock manifold.

To be honest it's my favourite cam for a stock engine, bucket loads of low down torque and very responsive with it's 110LSA

As mentioned above with the stock compression ratio of a 304 your options are very limited. It's not like an LS where you can go on the VCM website, pick a hawg ass cam and just throw it in.

I've actually just done another 276 in a mates car when I rebuilt his engine. The engine is stock, I just did a 3" exhaust and pacemakers and it's a really nice little streeter now, however if you are looking for a lumpy idle it's not the cam for you.

You won't get any cams with a noticable idle characteristic with the stock compression ratio of the 304.
