I know the door handles are metal from VR on wards but just wondering if you can drop them in a bucket of thinners or something to show up the chrome?

    Cheers

you can attack them with paint stripper, they then look dull greysortof colour, as theyre actually cast aluminum. a bit of autosol shines them up good, but it doesnt last. they go funny after a while, though i did leave mine sitting in the shed without touching them for a month or so after polish.

theres a set on ebay atm, theyre chromed. not sure if you can get them from holden still. but they will all be either plastic(vn/vp i think) or aluminum(vr, vs) though. no metal ones.

Just get yours done. Thats what I did, cost $120 for the full set. You have to pull them apart and there is a little rubber grommet that is on the handle that has to come off. Only thing is they need to be replaced. Go to Holdens and you can buy replacement rubber grommets but they are a bit bigger and longer. All I did was drill out the hole on the handle and cut about 2mm off the top of the rubber grommet. I'll try and find the part number, I have it here somewhere. If you wanna see what they look like check out my ride thread.
