    Hey guys,

I have a VS Calais and for some odd reason it doesnt have the 2 tone paint job. Instead it is just plain white. But anyway my front bumper is a bit damaged and I was thinking that I could just grab a second had one from a commodore but being a calais it has the chrome strip all around. If i get my hands on another bumper is it going to be possible for me to take the strip off of my current bumper or am i going to need a new strip... if so does anyone know where i can get one cheap?

    Cheers.

you should be able to re-use your strip, just be careful because its a 13 yr old strip ( or so ) it may be fairly brittle.

One colour with a chrome strip??? You sure you havent bought yourself a berlina with calais badges on it? lol

Well i, querying this question already, have found out that you can re-do your old strips, by peeling off the old/weared chrome, then buying a roll of it from autobarn, then putting it back on. Well thats what ive heard, and he said that its a bitch to peel off...

Just look up my posts for exact wording...

I was going to do it to my berlina but i cbf, ill let someone who knows what they are doing to do it.

open your doors, you will see a series of tiny screws from underneath the chrome pieces, then they just pull out from eachother.

The ones around the very rear quarter window as far as I know can only be removed by removing te quarter window at the rear.

    Goodluck.

ah ok cool... yeah i plan on leaving them on but my younger brother dented one of the doors when my grandpa owned the car... i am thinking it is just going to be cheaper to get a second hand door and transfer the chrome and electric windows and stuff over.

well I spoke to my local holden dealer a little while ago and the told me that a new chrome strip for just the front bumper would be $109 and autopro told me $98... so if u want genuine it isnt all that cheap.
