cleanin plenum on vx, gasket??

    vs commodore V6 S2 and a BA XR6T
    hi is it necisery to replace the plenum gasket on the vx? as i know its a different gasket setup then a vs as the vs have rubber oring type gasket and teh vx has a metal gasket?

    so yeh if i take teh plenum off is it necisery to replace the gasket?

    I would suggest replacing it, as it's only $30 or so bucks. But being metal you should get away with reusing it. But trust me, if you have ever had a vacuum leak you will wished u replace it the first time.

    if its flat then you will need to replace it as it may not create a good seal. be sure to also use some oil on the gasket to make a good seal

    IMO, I feel there is no need, I clean my plenum every 3 week's to a month and havent changed the rubber gasket in over 2 year's, No vacuum leaks at all, No trouble's at all.

    Unless the old gasket is ripped and torn or rock hard i dont think a new one is needed.

    Old one hold's up just fine for me
