Seriously pull out the back base and upright and give them a good once or twice over. They may look ok, but coke coloured water will come out.

The front you can do in or out the car.

i've seen someone fully remove the seats, spray degreaser on let it soak a bit then blast with a gurney - seats come up like new.

never would have thought of it myself but it's a no nonsense approach.

You’d be waiting a while for the degreaser smell to dissipate out of the seats. Not to mention the damage you’d do to the fabric and sponge underneath.

depends on the degreaser, but this is not true.

Somebody l know told me there is chemical in the degreaser that is the same as the one that is used in drycleaning?

He has a old Jeep Cheroke that had a oily or greasy seat. He used the degreaser to clean it & the seat came up mint.

I haven't tried this technique myself.

it's more the pink stuff you buy that is used on driveways and stuff. it really gets rid of the browny coloured gunge you get on seats.

I can’t believe degreaser is now on the table in this discussion.
The seats are worth a mint. It’s like saying my neighbours dogs budgie knew a guy who once heard that cleaning a rare Ferrari with lavender body wash and a non scratch pot scrubber works really well. In lavender body wash is the same ingredient they use in most car wash products.

Like the myth that detergent is a suitable soil wetter because detergents have surfactants in them.

These products are a cocktail of other things as well. The other compounds aren’t always a welcome addition, creating their own problems.

These seats need care.

Either clean on the car with traditional fabric cleaners that are made for using on fabric or hire a carpet cleaner with the furniture attachment from Bunnings for a small fee.

Best way is remove the seat. Remove the fabric cover. Wash it.
Remove the seat foams. Steam the foam. Clean all the frame and maybe clean up any rust and give it a paint.

Reassemble.

Top job done.
