OK last night a problem started with my car. I was disconnecting the battery and accidently bridged + to the body :bang: Now ive got a clicking noise from just below the cluster (BCM?) from a little black box there. The wipers set to intermitten when the car is on acc now and start firing the second the key is turned. I tried disconnecting the battery over night in a foolish hope of "cars fix themselves" am i up for a new bcm? pulling the wiper fuse out halves the clicking noise too.
ok so i got a new BCM, took forevrer and in all the places I looked I finally found ONE that was the correct BCM. A found about 50 LOW and about half that in MID and then finally a LUX Anyway It did not have a key/keyhead with it. what are my options do I need to get the rip off merchants at holden to link the key and bcm ? what do people do when they lose both of thier keys? *Edit* http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...is-bcm-into-berlina-trip-holden-required.html Answers all of my questions in one hit, I need Holden to link my ECU and Key to the BCM.
Your old remote key head is no good with your new BCM. You need to get a new remote programmed to your new BCM. Locksmiths charge about $270 for this from memory. Note before doing this, overide the security system with the timmed overide, start the car and make sure everything is working properly. I am saying this because i did the same thing on a camry and my wipers also went spastic. Problem turned out to be the wiper switch though.
Cost $300 odd all up, but everything works again. Note to self, don't short battery to body of car. I hear a plastic bag over the tool being used can be a big help.
