    Hey has anyone successfully converted the stock a/c to climate functionality? Does anyone know what would be involved? The unit in the dash is the easy part, i had a look at the back of the standard a/c unit, it looks like a very involved conversion...
    let me know you thoughts..

    Costly and not feasible. There are a few different threads around here that discuss teh requirements etc. Have a quick search. Try the VY forum if there isnt anything in the VZ one.

    exactly what mor11J said, waste of time and a huge cost involved.

    The problem is that the standard A/C uses mechanical rods to open and close the vents etc... The Climate Control unit is fully electronically operated which means ALL the vents would have to be converted to electronicly controlled ones, the control unit has to be installed as does the wiring loom to power and control it all.
    I beleive the costs are in the order of $2000 plus and as others have said, its really not worth the hassel. Its easier, and granted, costlier to order it when you buy the car!!
