To the OP: Good on you for having a nice car at your age. If you want to customise your car - go for it! Making your Omega look like a Clubsport is fine in my opinion if a genuine one is out of your budget. One word of advice though, by the time you add the cost/ value of the donor car, all the required parts and the labor/ painting to make the car look good; you will have spent way too much money. Money that could have been invested to make the genuine car a reality.

When I was young (& relaitvely broke!) I did a similar thing to a VR Exec and it looked really good, but once I finished the car I realised that the cost of the mods far outwieghed the value it added. As I got older (& a stronger budget) I realised that often the best value is in buying a car that is modded by the factory to look/ perform the way it does.

I say go for it and enjoy the process and learning curve of owning cars and modifying them to your taste/ expectation - it becomes an addiction!

Be sure to post photos when you decide on what you are going to do.

    FAIL.
If I put the same turbo on a bigger motor I'd get better results. FI isn't a replacement for displacement.

fail post day it seems, FI is replacement for displacement, it's another way of making it, not saying its superior, but if you dont want to bore and stroke your car, FI is a good alternative.
"apples and toothpaste" I don't see a boosted car in Holdens/HSV's performance lineup. The Xr6t and F6 whilst 2.2L down make better power then the 6.2l. Pretty obvious stuff.

The 6.2ltr is Naturally aspirated, The way it opperates its tottally different. The way it feels is totally different.
If I bolted the XR6-t turbo on to the L98 it would probably suck your face off in comparison to the XR6 with the same boost level.

You're trying to compare apples and toothpaste again.

What are you even arguing? I know all this... I been in quite a few V8's and forced cars and know the difference.
Simple statement that FI is replacement for displacment is true. Another way of adding power without opening your engine.

I'm comparing two cars that compete with eachother, well not really, the xr6t competes with the SS but it still flogs the HSV in that Vid.

    Blehhhh.

My point is, Forced induction isn't a replacement. Yes it helps develope power. But it doesn't change the fact that more capacity makes more power.
You can't make a broad statement and then use a narrow little example like that.

Really the only way the replacement for displacement saying holds complete truth is between two equally set-up engines.

    A S/c 383 will have more power than a S/c 350 and so forth.

we pretty much have the same point of view soop... dont know why everything always turns into an argument. In terms of power, FI is a replacement, as in another way of achieving power other than displacment.
