been looking around for new cluster/dash lights for my vx commodore, i recently just jumped on ebay and bought some cluster led's to see how they went assuming led's are brighter than incandescent usually i just grabbed the cheapest and most promising ended up grabbing some T5 globes with a single LED, and the result was terrible... so i researched for hours and cant seem to find any good globes without actually soldering, and one of the only things i ever seem to struggle with automotive wise, is soldering, and being on apprentice wages, cant really justify $150-200 and no car for a week or two to get my dash sent to phreddy, so i just kept looking and eventually found these, https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...194-led-bulb-5-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/199/
these say 220 degree angle, which is the biggest ive found so far, they also mention removing the hotspots which is the main problem with led upgrades, the description also states that the colour wont show as well through the colour film on the cluster 'skin' as i like to call it, so i have two questions.
1. would these specific globes eliminate hot spots or not
&
2. im thinking im gonna have to remove the film/cover/lens/filter or whatever you want to call it from the cluster, so i was wondering, what should i use to remove it, scrape it off, sand it down, or what, or will i not have to remove it? also if i remove the skin is the glue holding it onto the cluster going to stick when i put it back on or will i have to re-glue?
