hi, pulled my cluster out to replace some lights in it. now that i reinstalled it . it stoped telling me how many km's its done and the trip meter doesnt work either.

checked all fuses . all good. even replaced ones that looked dodgey. what could it be?

gotta be something to do with no 4 connector...make sure you have pushed it in properly or in far enough so it clicks with retainer

    does the speedo work?

If it does, the odometer and trip meter are driven by a small electric motor & pair of gears in the guts of the speedo. there is an electronic cct that converts the speedo pulses to power for the speedo motor, which drives two small gears, that drive the trip meter and odometer.

one of those cogs in mine has lost 1 tooth (yes, 1) and both the odometer and trip meter are now stationary.

having said all that, markovr's advice is good - check the connectors and look for little bits of blue plastic (looks like glad wrap & is a by-product of the build of the dash board) in the connector housing.

also make sure the cluster is screwed in to the dash board tightly - as that holds the connectors in tightly.

new cogs are $11 (someone in brisbane - i will search out the info - i had it and lost it) or another tacho cluster is about $85 at wreckers or ebay.

    cheers pete.
