    Hey guys,
Did a fair bit of driving today, more than usual (about 150kms) and i noticed towards the end of the day, my clutch went from (as usual) 100% wat-the-fk-rock-hard to a hard press through to a soft follow through (if that makes sense). Just wondering if this is a bad thing or something? Clutch isnt slipping or anything and no mechanical faults to date so yea just doublechecking everything. Previously when i got the car, i tried to adjust the cable but all it did was change the height of the pedal not the actual strength of it. I have the car booked in for a service on the 20th of April, my mechanic said its not good for the clutch to be so hard and its a possible fkd cable, otherwise i may need a new clutch all together

Any feedback / experience with that would be really awesome thanks guys.

possibly you broke some fingers on the pressure plate.

If you broke some fingers or some springs came out you would definitely know. Also the clutch would probably start slipping. Sounds like the cable. Was the clutch hard all the way through the travel before or stiff at the top and then softer through the bottom half? Does is engage at a different height now? You may have bent or broken the fork.

clutch was always hard all the way through, and it only softens a bit on the follow through wen i change gears going up not down or in first jst starting to taken off. it doesnt engage differently same as before

It could be that the pressure plate has lost tension, that happens. It doesn't slip at all? Try moderate acceleration in 3rd and stab the clutch, does it slip then or engage firmly?

had this kinda feeling happen in a car of mine, im not sure about your but is it cable clutch or hydraulic, when mine went from hard to soft through the travel it ended up being the cable stretching, check if you have operation at the end of the hard part.

If the cable stretches the clutch will engage higher up in the pedal travel.

Yea thats what I mean, in other words, your clutch might be fully engaged half way down, and the soft part just being the cable stretching from being nackered

When the clutch plate wears it will engage lower to the floor, when the cable stretches it engages higher up. When the pressure plate gives, the pedal will seem softer and it will slip under hard acceleration usually in 3rd or 4th.

What you are saying is that the clutch operation hasn't changed, just the pedal is easier to push in....correct?

Then it sounds to me like the pressure plate has lost it's tension. If it breaks it would make a pretty loud noise as all the bits are thrown around the bell housing and cover.
