Check the wiring and connectors that go from the TPS - Throttle Position Sensor, through to the ECU.Unplug and then plug back in the wiring connectors a few times to make sure theres good contact in the connectors. Also check the wiring connectors at the ECU itself for corroded pins in the connectors. Also the TPS could be faulty.Ive also seen new cheap brand sensors cause problems like this, its best to buy genuine holden sensors instead of cheaper ones.

vt v6, mods(susp brakesetc...)
clear code again!~
take battery negative off for ten minutes
remove sensor and plug it in (loose)
reconnect battery
start car and see if codes still sets (dont touch accelorator)
if it does NOT RESET the code: tps installed incorrectly
if it does and sensor okay.......

just to double check this is in a vn v6 v8 etc... (sounds stupid but the diagnosis is different and dont want to lead you down the garden path man)

yep vn 6. theres no way of installing it incorrectly. its 2 screws with a washer and spring inbetween the throttle metal thingy and the sensor. or am i missing something?

The gregorys workshop manual for the VP V6 says-To install the TPS-With the throttle valve in the fully closed position, install the throttle position sensor onto the throttle shaft at a position 30 degrees clockwise past the throttle position sensor retaining screw holes in the throttle body.Align the holes in the throttle position sensor with those in the throttle body, install the screws and tighten securely.
Id say the VN would be the same.

Yeah, maybe it is different then,Ive also got a VN-VS V6 and V8 haynes manual it says:
Disconnect the electrical connector from the TPS,remove the torx screws from the TPS and remove the TPS from the throttle body.
When refitting the TPS,be sure to align the socket locating tangs on the TPS with the throttle body.Refitting is the reversal of the removal proceedure.
Oddly enough, the instructions in it for the V8 says to turn it 30 degrees to locate it,then turn it back and screw it up though.
The haynes manuals are pretty bodgey though compared to gregorys manauls.Even my VS V6 gregorys says to turn it 30 degrees etc, which I have done lots of times to put it back on ,and have had no problems. So I just dont know what the go is with the VN one, maybe someone here has a VN gregorys that says how to do it.

sorry for the noob question brett.. but from which angle am i looking at the throttle body to turn it 30 degrees?
i had the sensor on the top with the connection plug facing me? and to make sure, all thats in between is a washer and spring?
